Lo folks, today we'll start something very different, Like I said last time my Warzone resurrection miniatures from Prodos have arrived and now finally I have had the time to make a full review of them to post here, the review will be broken up into nine (that's right 9) segments of varying length, each one dealing with the either miniatures or cards of one of the three factions I have ordered, The Dark Legion, Bauhaus and The Brotherhood. Then one each for cards and miniatures that are outside of these factions and then finally in the end one for the rule book.

Ok let get going. I'll start with the models I have already assembled, the first one is of course the necrobeast rider from last update he won't show up here again you'll simply have to scroll.

This Ladies and gentlemen is Alakhai the cunning Nepharite overlord and supreme commander of Algeroth Forces on Venus. That thing he's standing on is not a standard 30mm base, aside from it being a scenic base from secret weapons miniatures, it's also a 40mm base, why do I have him on a scenic base? Well because he simply won't fit on the 40mm base he was supplied with, that's how big he is. Honestly this can be one of the most bad-ass miniatures of all time.

From another point of view, you'll notice he like so many of my other minis is facing downwards on his scenic base. I never got the facing upwards thing, if you're over 2 meters tall (I'm not saying 7 feet I refuse to subscribe to the use of archaic units of measurement, the scientist in me simply will not allow it) there isn't much you need to look up on.

This is a Razide, again on a scenic base, I don't think he'll be on that base in the end though. It's a desert base and I'm going elsewhere with my dark legion. Yes I know I promised to tell you of my project but I want to have something to show you before I tell you.
This guy is even larger than Alakhai and looks absolutly stunning, now I just want my alternative weapon for him, Prodos (nudge nudge).

Limited edition dice, if the Mutant chronicles 3rd edition roleplaying game's symetry dice are d20 then these are so the perfect dice for that (except possible Ilian marked dice). It's weird though arent usually a symbol on a D20 replacing the 20 rather than the 1?

Golgotha Mistress of Pain. Some people have reported broken back spines on their Golgotha, I have had no such problem, I'm a little worried about the fingers on her right hand though.
Again I have something special in mind for this one, stay tuned.

Undead Legionaries, there will be more pictures of the other 'boxes' of them later on (2 'boxes' of five in the dark legion starter and I bought one extra.

Praetorian Stalkers, the armoured fist of Algeroth. The elgs are awesome with really nice intricate pattern on the armour, this is however the first set I had some issues with, so let's look closer at those.
These are their weapons, notice something? Yeah they are holding the stock outside of the elbow and it's molded that way, there simply is no way to fix this and it really sucks cause aside from that they are great minis.
This is however a more serious issue, this body of a stalker lay lose in the bag it had broken of the sprue, because the 'bar' of resin that held it to the sprue is as you can see hollow. So I went and removed the hollow bar to find this:
Yep a fair portion of the body is also hollow, now to Prodos' defence there was no way of telling as long as it sat on the sprue, but making this body work is going to take quite a lot of effort. I might even ask them for a replacement.

Necrobeast rider just like the one from the last update, well not exactly alike I did convert that one but anyway great mini, no issues.

Necromutants again a wonderful set it's a little shame that they share heads with the centurions on the necrobeasts, but it could have something to do with a fluff change that we'll get back to in the book section later on.

Here's ten undead legionaries if you zoom on the picture you'll see that the stocks of their weapons are very thin and run a serious risk of breaking. In fact one of them have either not filled the mold properly or broken in transport. This one:
As you can see it's very thin and has already broken. They arent much thicker than the flash around them. I'll have to see what Prodos' policy is regarding transportation damage, not that I absolutely need a replacement but if they were to offer one I'd accept and be very impressed.

And Dark legion mission markers, honestly I don't remember ordering these, I might have... or you get them free with each starter set which then leads to the question why I only have the dark legion ones. Or I simply had some money left over as I neared the end of the pledge calulator and these were the only thign cheap enough.

Now on the the next part, Dark Legion Cards.

  1. Looking good. The only thing I have disliked about all of the models I have gathered so far are the legionnaires' assault rifles. The stocks were so messed up on some of mine, that I just cut the stocks all the way off. I've saved the bits in the event I want to actually put them on the model in the future.

  2. I'm actually considering doing the same and adding solid stocks made out of palsticard instead. It'll all depend on how well they survive being removed from the sprue.
